Meet the Maker

Hello!

I'm Steph, the dreamer, maker, and sole person behind Wheatfield Knitwear.

I’m a mother of two daughters, wife to my high school sweetheart, and avid cozy enthusiast. I’ve always had a maker’s spirit; the ability to create something from nothing is a magical feeling.  I taught myself how to knit in 2005 and I haven’t put my needles down since. I’m a supporter of the slow fashion movement and a firm believer that everyone deserves something handmade in their lives.

Wheatfield Knitwear embraces that longing for coziness that starts to call to you as the leaves start to change and tugs at you to cuddle up on the couch under a blanket with a cup of hot tea. I take incredible pride in creating handmade pieces that embody this concept.  Wheatfield Knitwear began its journey as a small Etsy shop in 2014 and wheatfieldknitwear.com was launched in 2016.  I feel so honoured to have happy customers from all over the world.  Each item is designed, made, and packaged by me with so much love and care in Ontario, Canada.

Wheatfield Knitwear is all about attention to detail. Each yarn is hand-picked with quality, warmth, and comfort in mind. I love the texture of a chunky wool blend and have a weak spot for neutral colours. Combining the softness of the fibre with natural elements is pure magic, so each piece has a handcrafted wooden or faux leather detail attached.  Our rustic packaging puts the finishing touch on each item, making it feel authentic and unique.
